Comfort, Comfort Oh My Soul

, / 18

I hope and pray every person reading this post right now receives comfort and peace… because as we have all experienced, life can be quite challenging.  On our darker days, we wonder what life is really all about, and why we often suffer so much.  And as we get older, instead of life getting easier… my experience as I am quickly approaching 60 is life gets tougher.  I mean, I have many blessings…. but truly, life has its moments.  Moments – of despair, sadness, anxiety, and feelings of depression and worthlessness.

I try to remember that God holds us in the palm of His hands. God gives us the help we need to get through life and these often troubling times!  He wants us to seek Him during this difficult hour and press in to Him more and more.  While we are struggling through the “wilderness” and challenging times, He has provided comfort to us in His oh-so-timely Word (the Bible).

I won’t even pretend to have all the answers because I don’t – but God does.  I think someone out there needs to hear this message, God is good, and nothing is too big for His shoulders.  So sit down, take a load off, and share your heart with God.  His goodness and mercy prevail, and that we can rest on His shoulders.

God is in control, and He is always by our side.  He can move mountains and do anything He chooses to do.  God’s Word has provided us all the instruction that we need to get through life.  Let’s seek our comfort in Him.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”  (Psalm 46:1 NIV)

God never promised life would be easy, and that it would be a life free of suffering.  But, let’s take comfort and claim the promises of God in His Word!

Blessings to each of you!  I pray you have peace and comfort in the days ahead!
