Fresh Every Morning

God’s mercy – fresh mercies every morning…. Thank goodness. That means, we can get up every morning and start again.

That’s probably why we’ve heard the old saying “After all, tomorrow is another day.” (Margaret Mitchell, “Gone With The Wind”)…. and “things will look better in the morning.”

Every day is a glorious new beginning! So wake up, take a deep breath and start again.

Sometimes when I’ve had a really, really bad day, an “ugly” day where nothing has gone right, or I’ve constantly messed up; I just love to go to bed early and “sleep it off” because I know fresh mercies will be found in the morning! They are new every morning.

Mercy: “compassion”; “forgiveness” – that’s what God does for us. He forgives us, allows us to begin again with a clean slate. So when we’ve had a horrible hour or day, it’s not over. When the world around us is crashing in…. arise and shine because the light has come…. It’s a new day. Most of us are thinking, thank goodness, right?

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23 – ESV)

With all of the beautiful mercies and grace that God offers us each and every day, I choose to silently celebrate every morning the day the Lord has made! Even the birds sing His praises as the sun comes up.

“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

Until next time, friend.
