My Strength Is From The Lord

, / 9

We often wake up, and find it’s hard to get out of bed… we are exhausted – physically, emotionally and spiritually.  One day of struggling to get out of bed leads to one more…. soon it is a week we stumble out of bed just too wiped out to barely get through the day.  Well, so, maybe we need to eat better (that is surely the case where I am concerned).  We need to stretch and exercise – and certainly, I need to more.  And, I am certainly all for better health and wellness, but what if it is more than that?   Are we are just going through the motions and being weary? Moments of anxiety, emotionally overwhelming and no excitement for the future?  We are just plain – exhausted!  We are in a “pit” and feel alone.

But then we remember, God is in control.  He has not left us without hope. We can try to resolve these problems on our own and, yes, I believe God wants us to put our best efforts forward. But there is only so much we can do … on our own … without His help.  He wants us to seek Him for guidance and comfort when we are oh so very, very weary.

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”  (Matthew 11:28 NIV)

Realistically, for me, I am truly challenged  about letting go and letting God take over.  To truly lay it all at the feet of Jesus, and rest in Him – knowing and believing that He is going to take care of everything – is difficult.  Our struggles are very real, but we are not alone.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  (Isaiah 41:10 NIV)

God can move mountains and do anything He chooses to do – God is indeed in control.  He is always there to comfort us.  Life is certainly not easy – it is often tough and exhausting.  But, God also gives us help when we need it.

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”  (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)
