Sharing & Caring With Friends

Real Beauty & Style

, / 11

I would like to talk a little bit about personal “style” and inward and outward “beauty”.  Meet my youngest daughter, Caitlin, who is 23 years old.  Isn’t she beautiful?  (Well, I guess I am a bit biased!)  Cait2 Caitlin has learned at a young age that true beauty is important… it’s not in the expensive clothes you buy or wear…. I mean we all want that!  But, it is all in how you carry yourself… how you project yourself!  Your own special style!

And beauty from within is so much more important, I think!  Below are some pics of my beautiful daughter as well as her thoughts on beauty, fashion and her own personal style.

Her clothes are not all “name brand” clothes for sure, and Cait looks beautiful dressed up….

And casual.

Caitlin shares, “From an early age, my grandma taught me to bargain shop, and from then on I’ve always had a really good eye for deals.  I strongly believe that it’s not about WHAT you wear, but how you wear it.”

Caitlin also shared, “You could wear a trash bag with confidence and still look good!  I dress according to my mood.  My closets are filled with lots of color and different styles.  Sometimes I lean towards a girly look (lots of pink,) and other times I wear all black with dark lipstick. Sometimes I dress very hippy-like with lots of crystal adorned jewelry (I wire wrap pendants myself) and lots of lace or fringe.  I like to switch it up when it comes to fashion; I’m not what you would consider boring… or traditional when it comes to style and clothing.”

I love how she carries herself, and still maintain her good-natured and often child-like personality.  Caitlin is the first to help out family and friends and jump in where needed…. she helped care for my elderly parents and elderly Aunt Irene.  She knows how to handle a “crisis” and has a very calming and quiet spirit about her.  Caitlin is always easy-going and easy to be with (she was the same even as a child).  She has a fun, but calming personality.

Caitlin takes on a little bit of my mom’s (“Grandma’s”) personality as well as my sister, Carol.  They are the easygoing, tenderhearted ones in the family!

I believe, we each have our own style that reflects our own inner beauty.  Know who you are. Have your own unique style.

“Style is a reflection of your attitude and your personality.” (Shawn Ashmore)

One of our Nana’s favorite sayings (she lived to be 102 years old) that she used to tell my sister and I was, “put your best foot forward” (have confidence, do your best, exude confidence).

It’s not easy wearing your “own style” and reflecting your inner beauty, too.  I think Caitlin does a great job of it, though, don’t you?  I wished I had learned how to carry myself the way she does at such a young age.
What’s your favorite style and things to wear?  I would love to hear from you!

Putting my best foot forward, stepping out in style, and hoping you are too.
