Sharing & Caring With Friends

Shopping Cart Bandit

, / 14

We all have those days where we need a little chuckle and need someone to put a smile on our face!  I sure hope this true story does!

Here’s a cute story from my friend, Cheryl:

Supermarket, Shopping, Groceries.

I was pushing my cart through the dairy aisle, trying to remember what was on my list.  Yes- the list that I had misplaced and forgot to bring with me.  I reached for a gallon of milk as I thought to myself, How did the store get so busy?  Did everyone decide to shop at the same time?  I hate how crowded and busy it is- I need to just finish up and get out of here.”  I weaved past the other shoppers, put the milk in my cart, and started down the next row.

This lady was following closely beside me and staring at me.  I glanced at her, but no – I didn’t recognize her.  I continued down the row, but she was practically glued to my side.  Finally I stopped, smiled and starred at her… What in the world does she want??!!”  I thought to myself.

It was then that I looked down.  To my horror, and her slightly annoyed amusement, I realized that the tan purse I was staring down at was not my purse (but hers)!  Upon looking into the cart, I realized that the only grocery item I recognized was the milk I had put into the cart.

With my face red from embarrassment, I apologized repeatedly as I stepped away from her cart… after retrieving my milk.  If only the floor could have opened up and swallowed me whole, I would have felt so much better!
