Sharing & Caring With Friends

The Best Sermon Ever

, / 8

I love to go hear God’s word being preached and taught!  But thinking back, I can remember this one specific day that I was especially moved…. moved to laughter!

When we were newly married, our church had a special “speaker” who was doing a series of teachings.  My sister, Carol, along with our husbands, went to most of the meetings.  Usually, we sat in the back – that is a habit we picked up from our Dad who liked to sit in the back at church and other events.  Well, we were sitting closer to the front this one evening, and I was next to my sister, Carol, who loves to get silly like me.  And while we were listening to the preacher, we just couldn’t understand WHY he was saying “People need to be cannibals, people need to be cannibals.”

I looked over at my sister and we just got silly and tried to hide our muffled laughter since no one else seemed to be amused by this.

After a few more minutes of listening, we then realized the pastor was saying, “People need to be accountable, people need to be accountable!!!!”

Somehow, that particular teaching was my favorite one of the series!

Until next time.
